THANK YOU & VISITORS

Without the overwhelming support of my family and close friends, and the excellent team of doctors, I would not have had the fast recovery that I did. How do you thank them enough? It's impossible.

I also had many calls and emails and notes from so many of my cycling friends, business partners and associates. Friends from far and from near and my facebook friends too. Thanks to each and every one of you!

I mention a few here.....

My children:
April: Left her busy job at William Morris Entertainment and was there when I opened my eyes.
Tobi:  Took charge from Montego Bay Hope, through my stay in Memorial.
Jordanne: Flew in from Boston and then relocated to Florida to take care of me.
Matthew: Flew in from California and was there when I opened my eyes.
Michael: He was there at the time of the accident and had to stay back in Jamaica.

With my 5  children and my grandson. December 2010

My Sisters:
Debbie: there are NO words to describe the time she took and the care she gave to me. I am talking about love and dedication. She was on the flight with me from Jamaica and by my side day in, day out.
Nicky: Within minutes, she was right there at St Ann's Bay to meet me and make sure I was ok. She kept in touch by email, facebook etc and gave me invaluable advice, support and love.
Carol:  she lives all the way in Switzerland but via skype she connected and kept up with my progress along with her husband Domenico and children Dario and Laura

My Aunt
The family matriarch, Aunt Grace ALWAYS puts family first. She is the head of nursing at a busy NY hospital but she was on the next plane to Florida and at my bedside until post surgery and my condition was stabilized.

My brother in law Louis Grant
Louis was there to support me and my sister Debbie. He provided me with housing in Florida once I was discharged. Louis is on amazing man, with a huge heart and capacity for giving!

My Mother
My Mom isn't one for a lot of words. Living in Sicily, she also connected via skype and kept in touch with my progress. Love my Mom so much!

My niece and her Husband.
Dr Ali Peterson and Dr Rich Peterson were on the phone constantly giving advice, and supporting the family in making decisions about my medical care.

The Management and Staff of Holiday Services
Special thank you to Cassandra Chin: my general manager at Holiday Services, for providing the support  she always has.  Also to Janice Robb, my Operations Manager at that time. She didn't leave that hospital in Jamaica, until I was on my way overseas. And of course thank you to ALL the team at Holiday Services who continued to carry on the family business, so that my family could focus on taking care of me!

I cannot list the amount of persons who sent emails and cards. However I must mention one of them. Lucien Black sent the funniest cards and so perfectly suited to me. I will try to scan then and include them in this blog!

  1. Jennifer,

U were well sedated at the time I visited the hospital so now I can tell you that the combinations to safe boxes and passwords to secret bank accounts that you gave me while we spoke privately in your room at Mobay Hope, they all turned out to be wrong (although I did find the stash of secret x-rated pics taken a year earlier)...:-).

On the real though, you also had visits by Sean Williams and Liz while I was there at the hospital and your assistant Cassie provided great support to both your sister and Tobi. We were never really deeply worried about you, not only because the docs had reassured us that u had been stabilized but also because we knew u were a tremendous fighter; your sense of humour and sharp wit never left you either so we were all able to remain positive through your entire ordeal. Our ignorance of the extent of ur injuries also helped at that time.

Good to have u back; you're one tough little cookie.

    Nuff Luv,

    Oral...

  2. Thank you Oral. I have updated accordingly. I waited too long to o my blog, and it gets harder to remember every detail. Blame it on old age or maybe I lost few screws in my head! I just added Janice as I remember she visited me too at the hospital. IF anyone out there finds I have left out a name, I trust they will forgive me as its very much unintentional. Cassie is like a daughter to me. Love her so much. Thanks Oral.
